Butterflies and our identity in Jesus!

Butterflies have a very special place in my heart. In the medical community people with my genetic diagnosis are called butterflies. Partly because of our rarity to even pass conception, but also our strength and perseverance through life and the medical system. Over time in my life I allowed my diagnosis to tell me who I was. Forming a belief that it is who I am. But in reality it is really who I am not. Many negative attributes formed over time. insecurity, unworthiness, self doubt, all led too. You guessed it…. self rejection! We all carry an identity of ourselves. Over time it can lead us far from the true identity of who He created us to be. God created each of us with a part of himself and nature he wants to express through us. Being God first born embodying all of His nature, Jesus releases this gift to us. If we seek Jesus and ask Him to reveal to the truest version of ourselves, He can transform us in to something completely new and beautiful.  Just like a caterpillar going into a cocoon to be transformed into a butterfly, are we when we go into the secret place with Him. Echoing our heart to Him as He echos His heart back to us. Filling us with who he says we are, we can leave behind the old version of ourselves. Emerging from His cocoon transformed. Carrying the gifts and nature God created us to embody. A completely new creation! So light and free! Each of His butterfly’s unique and equally beautiful. Rich with purpose and identity. We are His Butterflies! Shalom Shalom Friends!
